Bronwyn Fontaine, Associate

Bronwyn Fontaine is a registered Occupational Therapist with over a decade of experience providing mental health services to clients within Manitoba. She obtained her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy in 2009 from the University of Manitoba.

She has formal training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills Training through Behaviour Tech, and co-occurring disorder training through the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba.

In addition to her formal Occupational Therapy training, Bronwyn completed the Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation Program through Boston University in 2014. She has formal training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills Training through Behaviour Tech, and co-occurring disorder training through the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba.

Bronwyn has extensive experience in group facilitation and individual therapy and working with adults and youth in both inpatient and outpatient/community settings. Her areas of expertise include psychosocial rehabilitation, addiction, mood and anxiety management, behavior activation, reintegration into work and school environments, mindfulness, and emotion regulation. She is skilled at assessment and intervention of all aspects of the client, using a whole person approach.

In addition to her clinical work, Bronwyn has been published in the journal Occupational Therapy in Mental Health for her research on bridging the gap between hospital based and community mental health services.

Bronwyn is a member of the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists, Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and World Federation of Occupational Therapists. She is a past president of the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists.

Bronwyn is guided by the principle that everyone is doing the best they can and has the ability and innate desire to improve. She focuses on helping clients develop skills and access resources to engage more effectively in their environments and build a greater sense of meaning and mastery.
